REFUND and RETURN POLICY

Moving to a virtual boutique changes how we have operated and branded our one-of-a-kind concept so I struggled with the idea of yet another change. I had just spent time, energy and money converting my garage yet it became obvious it wasn’t a long term option.  I thought..How do I do this without losing the whole focus, continuing to be an affordable resource, continue to keep costs down, stay relevant and true to my vision and mission, have the funds for my nonprofit.., but most importantly how could I be there for my local "tribe" who made everything possible in the first place by supporting, donating and shopping at the boutique..if there's no store to browse on your lunch break, try on things before you buy, see in real time how we were making a difference or drop off your donations and use the coupon in one visit????

Accepting and depending on donations was the key to our success.

  • It kept overhead costs down which allowed us to price things lower than our local thrift stores.
  • The 25% off coupon we gave when items were donated was an added incentive for customers that not only kept new inventory coming in but it also brought women back in to shop and get a substantial discount on already low prices.
  • The nonprofit aspect allowed women to give back knowing it supported a cause that had been doing charitable work before Curvy GURLZ Boutique was even opened. The small family and volunteer grassroots vibe was appealing.
  • The "donate where you shop" aspect combined with the appreciation of a coupon helped further our unique concept since donating elsewhere might get you a tax receipt but not a discount to shop there.
  • Most importantly the whole purpose and conception of Curvy GURLZ was to fund our 501c3 nonprofit which had been operating 100% with personal funds. Every penny made was put right back in to operating costs and our charitable program. What little reserve we had was depleted quickly with our disaster relief response. Even when our efforts went viral, I secured a couple small grants and donations of clothes, supplies, and a few small monetary gifts came in..it was so massive lasting 4 months that we took a hit. The depletion of inventory given out for free, the amount of my customers who were affected and relocated, had lost everything and were now unable to donate or shop also had an effect. In looking back I am still in awe at how massive the reality and impact of what was happening would end up being because in the moment it was surreal and chaotic with no time to process the severity or magnitude so fast the focus was on . What many didn't  know was that I am also a Red Cross volunteer so I was doing double duty, so to speak. I helped set up the initial evacuation center hours before most knew the gravity of the situation and the mass exodus to Chico that would displace 50,000 people in a matter of hours..I have stories about my experience, but that’s for another time.

So for all my local ladies, my fire survivors, and those who have volunteered or donated.. I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support through every phase and effort to keep Curvy GURLZ Boutique alive. I hope you will continue to shop and donate as we move into this new venture. Please take the opportunity to help by sharing the website link on your social media platforms.

REFUND and RETurn policy

Why Can't I get a refund?

Why Can't I get a refund?

Why Can't I get a refund?

Due to the already low price point I am trying to maintain that is below comparable items on other selling platforms at the time I post it...and with a set shipping cost that is also lower than average..I can't have a return or refund policy that could allow for opportunists taking advantage of the ability to get quality items, new or pre-owned as a revolving wardrobe option to return and change out for something else on a regular basis. Besides possibly losing money, this could have a huge affect on my inventory, be added work tracking and re-listing returned items, and prevent others who are serious shoppers from being able to purchase something because its in transit back and forth and not available on the site.

Quality Standards

Why Can't I get a refund?

Why Can't I get a refund?

I realize this might be an issue for some people and will discourage them from shopping, especially because brands, and pictures aren't always true to size or able to match body types. I will always be available to contact for questions, additional pics of the item, measurement details etc. I have personally selected everything I post and have done my best to initially inspect the item. I will NEVER purposely conceal a defect, flaw, odor or irregularity..but I'm human and might miss something in which case I would offer a credit on a future purchase. Everything is presumed pre-owned unless it states "NEW" in the item description but I have lots of items that have obviously never been worn but unless there's a tag I won't list it as new. The price of the item can also be a factor in determining the overall condition if the picture is not clear enough. I have a set price point on most things of a similar style or quality with the exception of higher end brands which I try to price reasonable or comparable to the same or similar items currently listed elsewhere.

Bundles

Bundles

I'd also like to point out that moving to an e-commerce model where shipping is added to the price, approximately 25% of my inventory I could sell in a physical store for $5 or below is now not possible because the item is not worth more than the shipping cost. Once I have listed everything..I will have a section with "bundles"..which may include 2 or more similar same size items, "styled" outfits of the same size, items with minor flaws, out of season items, older styles or items that have been listed for a long time etc.

Local pick-up and donation drop-off

All items purchased online are available for a pre-arranged "porch pick-up". Please keep in mind everything is sold "as is" so be sure of your purchase or contact me before checking out if you have questions, need exact measurements or want more pics or details. As a general observation, the majority of items posted look better than portrayed in the pictures because they are not taken with a professional camera , filters or been altered or edited other than background removal on some photos. Be sure to view all the pictures of the item you are interested in buying because in some instances the color was off. The most vibrant color will always be the most true to form. Making sure you are loving your purchase, coming back often and sharing our boutique with family and friends is how our success is measured. Therefore we value your opinions, comments and concerns and encourage you reach out should there be an issue we may be able to rectify.

I hope my local ladies will continue to donate. I will have a "porch drop-off" that will be available 24/7. There will be a short form to fill out with your contact info so I can generate a virtual coupon or code you can enter to get your 25%. I ask for at least a minimum of 3 donated items to receive the coupon, but there's always exceptions like the condition, brand, or value of the items. You can donate more than 3 items and will be issued multiple coupons. Only one coupon can be redeemed per order, but they don't expire and can also be transferred to friends or family.

I would gladly accept donations from any of my curvy gurlz from outside the area.. but shipping can be expensive and I wouldn't want anyone to absorb the cost if it would be a hardship. I you have a large amount of quality items you are trying to offload or donate please contact me as I may be able to facilitate a one-time monetary donation that could cover the shipping costs.

For those wanting and able to ship donations..I can provide a tax receipt for the estimated value of your donations including shipping costs..and you'll also receive the 25% off coupon
